BinaryGirl.com was founded by Robyn, a 25 year old tech-savvy woman from
Fremont, CA. Due to the lack of women interested in computers and technology, she decided to create a website to establish an online community of women like herself. In 1999 she started the site and in early 2000 she left her job at Sun Microsystems to pursue it full time.
