Our Goals


The most important goal of BinaryGirl.com is to share knowledge with those interested in learning more about technology through an interactive community of women. Our mission is to bring members together so that they may create the ultimate resource for themselves. We will encourage others and give them the support they need to expand their endeavors, whether it be building the perfect PC or starting their own IT business. It is time for women to bridge the gap in the IT industry and realize that they are an invaluable resource.

Our Team

Robyn Navarro
BinaryGirl.com Founder / Editor-in-Chief

BinaryGirl.com was founded by Robyn, a 25 year old tech-savvy woman from Fremont, CA. Due to the lack of women interested in computers and technology, she decided to create a website to establish an online community of women like herself. In 1999 she started the site and in early 2000 she left her job at Sun Microsystems to pursue it full time.

 

Kristi Hagenbach
Associate Editor

Kristi Hagenbach is one of our Associate Editors. She has brought much knowledge to the publishing side of our site, and her creative spunk is definitely an asset to BinaryGirl.com. Kristi is currently attending San Francisco State University and will be graduating in May with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature.

There are many ways you can be a part of BinaryGirl.com and they are all easy:
  • First, visit the site and take a look around. Is there anything you see missing? Let us know and we will try and add it for you. Remember, this is a community site and we care what you think.
  • Do you have an interesting job in the IT field? Why not contribute to our "Day in the Life" section where women let us know what it’s like to work in their position.
  • Visit our message board. Ask questions and get answers from women that know. Also don’t be scared to take a stab at answering a few questions yourself.
  • Post events and announcements that you think tech women would like to know about on our message board or in our classifieds section.
  • Want to write for us? BinaryGirl.com is looking for a few good writers. There are a variety of topics that you can write about to get your name out there and you retain all copyrights to your work. Contact us for more details.
